Michael R. Roskam was selected to direct Racer and the Jailbird in 2012 and was later joined by Matthias Schoenaerts to take up the main role. In 2015, Thomas Bidegain and Noé Debré were selected to write the script in conjunction with Roskam. The film was then intended to be produced by Bart Van Langendonck and its filming was to begin in 2014. However, shooting began in 2016 after Adèle Exarchopoulos came on board. The movie presents us with a spine-chilling, hair-raising thriller which starts with ordinary humdrum and escalates to reveal unforeseen and brutal truths about the lifestyle of the rich and the famous. The movie succeeds in keeping the audience glued to their seats. The directorial skills of Dean Devlin shine throughout. The story, the screenplay, the dialogue all have been executed in a superb way. Kudos to the director-producer team.
